Canada
Paydude supports payments in Canada, enabling merchants to accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, and Interac cards. To process payments in Canadian dollars (CAD), the merchant account must be set up with a pricing template where currency = CAD.
Interac
Interac is Canada’s primary debit card network, allowing customers to pay directly from their bank accounts. It is the default network for in-person debit transactions in Canada.
Accept Interac Payments
Merchant onboarding
Merchants must opt-in to accept Interac Debit payments by completing an opt-in form. To request the form, email support@paydude.io.
Fees
Interac payments incur a $0.10 per-transaction fee, which replaces the standard pricing template rate for other payment methods.
Refunds
Interac has strict conditions on refund eligibility:
- In-person Interac payments are only eligible for same-day refunds.
- The card must be present and inserted into the terminal to process a refund.
- If a refund is attempted outside the same-day window, the refund will fail. In such cases, the merchant must use an alternative refund method, such as cash or store credit.
Payouts
Interac payments are settled separately from other payment methods. If a merchant processes both Interac and non-Interac payments on the same day, they will receive two separate payouts.
