See what card processing costs you each month, and what a lower rate would be worth.

Set your monthly card volume below. The calculator applies the tier your volume qualifies for and compares it against a standard 2.9% + 30¢ published rate.

How the calculation works

Card processing cost has two parts: a percentage of the amount, and a flat fee per transaction. The calculator assumes a $25 average transaction, so the number of transactions is your monthly volume divided by 25.

That second part matters more than most people expect. A flat 30¢ on a $25 sale is another 1.2% on top of the headline rate — see the effective rate calculator to work out your own.

What this does not include

  • International card surcharges, which apply only when the card was issued outside your home country
  • Premium rewards and corporate card surcharges
  • Chargeback and retrieval fees, which depend on your dispute rate
  • Instant payout fees, which apply only if you choose one

Those are situational, not baseline, so folding them into a headline comparison would overstate the cost for most businesses. Paydude lists each of them on the pricing page.

GOOD QUESTIONS

Frequently asked

What average transaction size does this assume?+

$25. The fixed per-transaction fee is a much bigger share of a small sale than a large one, so ticket size changes the result significantly. Use the comparison calculators if you want to set your own average.

Is the savings figure a quote?+

No. It is arithmetic on two published rate cards. Your actual cost depends on your card mix, your dispute rate, and which situational fees apply to your business.

Do I have to ask for a lower rate?+

No. Paydude tiers apply automatically based on last month's volume, and a tier stays locked for six months once you reach it.
